As a professional dancer Melissa always sought alternative ways to stay in shape and rehabilitate dance related injuries.  She soon developed a love for the anatomy of movement with a particular interest in the role joint biomechanics had on  improving one’s athletic performance and activities of daily living.  After her dance career ended in 1995 Melissa became a certified personal trainer and began sharing her passion for dance and fitness with a diverse clientele at some of NYC’s leading health clubs.  With a desire to learn from the best and brightest minds in rehabilitation and sports medicine Melissa’s journey ultimately lead her to the prestigious Kane School of Core Integration.  Known for it’s intensive Pilates curriculum and concentration in core muscle anatomy Melissa began studying under the watchful eye of Kelly Kane.  At present Melissa maintains a private clientele, training in home and at private facilities where she helps Men and women of all ages physical histories enjoy a better life through exercise.

Melissa holds a B.A. from New York University. She is certified by the American Council on Exercise, National Academy of Sports Medicine, Aerobics and Fitness Association of America, Kane School Of Core Integration (Original Pilates Method), IM=X Pilates, Yogafit and has a specialty certification in Pre/Post Natal exercise.

Along with her husband Matthew, Melissa teaches PILATES ON THE PIER for the Parks and Recreation Department of NYC. She is also a guest lecturer at Marymount Manhattan College and Touro College.
